Default Drilling???

Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted much... How on earth do you all keep up
with all these messages? Love reading them, though!

I wanted to know if any of you have had any experience with drilling holes
in rocks. I just got back from vacation in Devon (Kingsbridge), and picked
up loads of cool rocks on some of the beaches down there. I'm planning on
wrapping some of them with wire, but some of them would be so elegant as
regular pendants... I was going to try using a small masonry bit and maybe
buy some kind of vice from the hardware store. Can fragile rocks shatter?

BTW, one of the beaches, Blackpool Sands, is a beach made of little pebbles
instead of sand. I took my sandals off and stuck my feet in... I told DH
it was just like sticking my bare feet in a bunch of beads! I probably
sat there for 45 minutes like that digging for cool rocks. Just like
shopping, but FREE!

Try this -- it's about glass, but I'm sure you will get something useful from
it:
