Default Nasal pillows was: OT - alternative to CPAP

Another alternative...thanks. At least I know there are some different
designs to consider if something doesn't work out. I'm the type who just
chucks it all when something isn't working. I don't tend to go back and nag
for a resolution. Just a shrug, and an "oh well" and forget about it. That
doesn't apply to my sewing though...I'm a bull dog about getting things to
fit, the right color, etc. Just to my health...go figure. Dumb, huh?

Okay...adding my 2¢....I wear a bite guard (kind of like the thing that
athletes use to protect their teeth) when I sleep because I clench my
jaw and without it I end up with tooth sensitivity and pain. I also
have a CPAP with nasal pillows. It's not that bad in the "something in
my mouth and over my nose" thing because the pillows aren't really over
the nose. They aren't *in* the nose either, just kind of pressed up
against them. The air is streamed directly into the nostrils and they
aren't uncomfortable. I find it much easier to sleep with than the
nasal mask. It's softer, more pliable and I can even sleep on my
stomach. (Although I don't think they recommend that.) I talked about
it so much that my father ended up trading in his full mask for the
nasal pillows and he loves the difference! I have a humidifier that is
attached to the machine, so in the drier weather I don't have to worry
about drying out my nasal passages. It's great to hear about
alternatives though!!

That is what I was thinking. My Dentist says I have TMJ, but I never got
the
mouthpiece. Couldn't deal with something in my mouth AND over my nose.
