Children's Sleepwear
Does anyone know where I can buy flannel fabric that was chemically treated
to meet the flammability requirements of children's sleepwear? How do I know if the fabric I'm buying meets this standard? Is anyone familiar with how they treat this fabric? Any information would be helpful! Thanks, Peggy |

Boy I wish that I could help, but here in Maine, I heard on the local news 1
day, that they no longer make fabric flame retardant, because it is a carcinogenic. but I would ask at your local fabric store to make sure on that. Thank you Rose. I'm not sure about the current US legislation but I'm in
Canada. Here there are still legal flammability requirements on children's sleepwear under size 14. Like you point out though, I don't see how these chemicals can be healthy for children. I have since concluded that it isn't worth it for a small company like mine to produce children's sleepwear with all the complications and the expense of treated material. Instead, I am considering making pyjamas for mommies with easy access for nursing. No restrictions on those! Thanks again, Peggy "Maine-iac Rose" wrote in message ... Your right there, no restrictions for adults. If I do happen to find any
page on that, I'll pass it on. Good Luck. Maine-iac Rose @--- remove the thorns and add a hyphen between the 2 words to email me. "Peggy" wrote in message : Thank you Rose. It seems I can't even breathe in these newsgroups without someone adding
their 2 cents about what I should and shouldn't be doing. I was told that it was UNACCEPTABLE to cross post!!! Not only that, but as a regular poster in these groups I thought it would be acceptable some time ago to post that I was listing an interesting series of sewing books for sale. I was told this was acceptable protocol in "alt" newsgroups. Not only did I receive a bunch of rude e-mails from people who didn't appreciate my posting, but I was also reported to BOTH eBay and Sympatico, by two different busybodies. Despite this, the person who started one of these newsgroups e-mailed me to say that my original posting WAS acceptable, especially since it was on topic. I would like to know how the people who continually post "See Christina Aguilera Naked" are still around without hassle and a regular poster who made ONE simple sewing book sale posting was harrassed from every direction. I think all of you Newsgroup Police need to get a life! "Ann Knight" wrote in message ... Peggy, I think you'll find that with some people if the particular post
doesn't interest them they gripe and complain. They seem to think it should only be postings that they find interesting and nothing else is acceptable. My advice is, unless it's from someone running the group, ignore them. They are generally not worth your time. -- it's easier to run away with your kilt up than with your pants down. LOL Karen Maslowski in Cincinnati Now that you mention it, I use the filters in my Netscape newsreader to good effect. Every once in a while, I look in the filter log and am amazed to see a long list of posts from email addresses that I filter out. It really enhances my enjoyment of the newsgroups! -- Joanne @ stitches @ singerlady.reno.nv.us http://bernardschopen.tripod.com/ Life is about the journey, not about the destination. |
