Default Gloss for Lips Question

Hi

I am new to claying and am going to try my hand at making a doll. I am
seeking like advice on lipstick. I would like the lips to have a
glossy sheen. From reading past posts on gloss in this group I
understand that Rustoleum Clear Gloss is a choice but has a long
drying time. Any other suggestions?

As far as getting the lips pink, is arcylic paint the best choice?
Another person recommended just using pink chalk and sealing it with a
gloss (but didn't state which gloss).

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have used a coat of Future floor acrylic on lips and eyes for a natural
shine.

Hi Rachel,
I just recently bought and started experimenting with the product
'Diamond Glaze' so I haven't tried it on clay yet, nor read anything
about how well it works (lasts, etc.) But I know it is very
glossy/wet-looking and you can tint it with dye reinkers --the kind used
for rubber stamping.
Also, I hear that 'Crystal Lacquer' comes in colors and should give a
similar wet appearance.
I'm sure there are some experienced sculpting clayers here who can help
you more, but I thought I'd mention this product since it came to mind! :-)
Regards,

Hi! I use Flecto Varathane in the gloss, either over acrylic paints or mixed
with. Works like a charm. Use it straight for wet eyeballs, use it with a
little red and in a drybrush sort of way to apply chhek color, rub off with
finger to smudge it in nicely. The Flecto goes into the clay and the paint
won't come off easily.
