Tap wire?
brads?
I think there's more to be learnt.

I've worked with ply for decks on models and it's harder to machine than
MDF. That said I would worry that a) MDF gives way around the corners and b)
swells badly if it ever gets wet.

But what are the two things you mentioned above. Is that wireing as for
lights?

A typo. Should have been Tape Wire -
A flat two-conductor tape used for wiring.
See http://www.dollhouseminiatures.com/electric/kit.htm

brads?

Short 1/8" (approx) long brass brads used to connect lamps to the tape.

An infinite amount

The FAQ for this group is quite informative -

Other materials (but not as good for PLAY) include foam core.
For a PLAY house, I'd use real wood, and a bit over scale. Look in your
favorite toy store. For a more delicate / display / heirloom type
house, almost none of the basic structural usually wood shows; it's
usually covered with siding or fascia, and the interiors wallpapered
(even if in a plain white).

Yes. There are other methods, too, of course.
