Default Brain dead....

I have about 1 yard of this Scooby cotton that my grandson loves. I would
like to use it as the focal print in a quilt for him either for next
Christmas or for his room in their new home. Any suggestions gratefully
accepted.

Mary:
I'm no expert as most of the others are in this NG, but I've had an
idea of taking a full yard of fabric, not cutting into it, but using it as
the
center of a quilt and just putting several coordinating borders around it.
Then I would quilt either around the design in the center fabric or some
such thing. Does that sound like it would be do-able and/or logical?
Just thinking "through my fingers"!

You could make snowball blocks from it, alternating with snowball blocks in
a plain color that coordinates.

I'm doing that with a princess panel for my DGD. I would like to work this
Scooby fabric into pattern.

How about as the centre of large log cabin style blocks - I used a
pattern from an issue of Quilt it for Kids (QNM) for the boys' Space Quilts:

I'll try and upload a picture of one or both of them flat tomorrow so
you can see the pattern better. IIRC the centres are 6" (finished)
squares and the logs are cut at 2", giving 1.5" finished logs.

Mary,
Maybe you could fussy cut the pics of Scooby, make a snowball block with
that and a nine patch using coordinating fabrics?
