My mentor in Life

My friend

Sensible, generous, gently eccentric: she of the acerbic with and the
cheeky giggle. No more.

Sudden, but peaceful.

I feel kind of rudderless and cut loose. Odd.

I'm so sorry, Kate. What a terrible loss to you and all your family.
(((Hugs))) Thinking of you and yours...

Thank you.

It was her time. PM says her heart was worse than we realized, and she
had developed bronchial pneumonia and some renal failure. I'm glad she
had not lost her mental capacities. That would have destroyed her in
ways we would have hated and so would she. Mercifully the end was very
fast and can have caused little distress if she was even awake.

Kate, I am so sorry. I lost my dad in August. Wish I had something
profound or comforting to say, but really it just sucks.

Hugs,

Thanks. She was more frail than we really realized, and the end came
swifter than we wanted, but at least she can't have suffered much, if at
all. Best way, really.

We will all miss her a great deal.
