OT - What were they thinking?
I'm old enough to have breathed more than one sigh of relief when
pantyhose first appeared freeing us from girdles and garter belts. BUT when hemlines crept upwards, did the pantyhose makers adapt their design so that the 'panty' part didn't extend almost to the knee? Of course they didn't !!!! At least not for awhile. Insert your musings he -- another anne, add ingers to reply |

Many pantyhoses are now so short that they barely stay up on one`s legs , and by this they loose that wonderful `Free of girdle` feeling we got when they were invented ... mirjam |

OT - What were they thinking?
I personally hate pantyhose, I can get one leg on but I end up going into
all kinds of contortions to get the second leg on. I will take thigh highs with the elastic or rubber or whatever it is that they put in them to keep them up over pantyhose any day. Beverly B They are better for you - gynaes do not like the airlessness of pantyhose - breeds all sorts of female ailments like yeast infections. I remember passing the sex shop section in Selfridges with a doctor friend who said she wished her patients would wear the panty hose on display there with the crotches cut out lol But I always picture my mother's face and hear her whispering: "What if you get in an accident and your dress flies up?" For me that just doesn't paint a pretty picture. |
