Knitted lace

Does anyone here do knitted lace? I have a whole lot of UFOs, but since I
moved have not had the inclination to pick them up. On the other hand, it's
been even longer since I knitted, I thought I'd start working on next
Christmas.

I have one bit of advice for anyone that wants to do knitted lace. Be
prepared to count stitches. If not every line you must count every few
lines or you will get lost and you will have to rip.

It's very easy to pick up stitches, or forget a yarn over.

Just in case I didn't say it loud enough--Be prepared to count your stitches
a lot.

I have done lace knitting before, so I know all about the stitch counting!
My Mom started a christening gown for my sisters babies, and after a couple
of inches decided I was the family knitter, so I took over. I must try to
find a photograph, as the result was stunning! It was done with Shetland
wool... probably 1 ply, but I'm sure it was about a quarter ply! :-)

I've been surfing, looking for nice scarf or stole patterns, but most of
them are with thicker wool, or uninteresting patterns. I was hoping someone
knew of some interesting patterns. THEN I'll start looking for the wool.

You might want to ask on RCTY. There are lots of lace knitters there and
they're sure to be able to provide you with exactly what you're looking for.
I searched high and low for an aran knitted baby set and could find
nothing. Immediately upon asking someone there (I wish I could remember
who it was) led me to exactly what I was looking for.

on the quality or accuracy of the instructions, but it's not terribly
