OT - slang questions
My DS wants to know if these terms are elsewhere in the country or if it a
New England thing. So #1 - rice boy or rice burner referring to any motorcycle built for speed (aka crotch rockets) not for touring #2 - riced or riced out - any car that has been extensively modified - lowered, after market rear spoiler, larger exhaust He's become some what car crazy (better than girl crazy) of late - wants to know if I think the new Ford GT or the new (fill in the blank) is a better car and other such defining questions.... Cheryl (who's favorite car is the '69 Mustang, in British Racing Green and the ragtop!) Cheryl |

I always thought riceburners applied to japanese manufactured motorcycles;
but then, DH originally came from New England as a kid. I heard Michael (13) talking of crotch-rockets when I was in Maryland a couple of weeeks back. Gillian "Cheryl Isaak" wrote in message ... I have heard of these terms especially in regards to small econo cars
that have alot of body panels changed and stickers on them. It is not meant to be a pleasant slang word. More like "That rice boy actually thinks that spoiler and those stickers make his ricer go faster." When a person spends that much money on exterior mods on a 90's Honda Civic or Dodge Neon you have to wonder where their head is. IMNSHO If you are going to mod- do the engine and suspension first not the spoiler and ground effects. Buy a '69 muscle car. It'll be more original and more fun. Otherwise, a Honda Prelude (manual trans) is a good starter. HTH, Julie Richmond, VA Previous owner of 3 5 speed Toyota Supras- none "needed" modding said... We've heard rice burner applied to certain models of BMW cycles and to a
Ducati. I'm particularly interested to terms used to refer to modified cars. I did hear a new one a couple of days ago: "road farmer" as in "John's a road farmer." Anyone heard that one? (it means a farmer who drives around alot but never actually gets anything done) |
