Default Pearls . A rose by any other name

I believe the translation of "thick" as used by ted in this case is #5 in
your Merriam-Webster Online. ( Obtuse, Stupid ). HeH!

Ruth? or Rozita? are you one and the same?
Ted Frater.

Hi Ted, I hate to break this to you but not everyone whose name begins

with
R is the same person. Are you 'Tess' at weekends?
I was just exercising my divine right to express an opinion. I didn't
realise I was treading on hallowed ground . Most of the time I am too

busy
making jewellery to involve myself in playground tantrums.

Besides, there are a lot of thick people about.

Hmmmm. I didn't realise this group was moderated by MENSA.........
Ruth

Ted, Ruth, Abrasha, and others...

No, the group isn't moderated by MENSA, just little 'ol me.

Please remember that part of the charter I'm supposed to follow in

moderation
the group is the bit about not allowing personal attacks.

You guys can get a bit testy if you want, and bicker gently now and then,

and
I'll allow it.

But try not to get actually nasty, OK? That, I would have to stop, and I

don't
like doing that.

And Ted, for the record, while there may be some thick people around, due

to the
overabundance of high calorie snack foods creating an epidemic of obesity

in the
U.S., (heck, I'm a few pounds over what I'd like to be, myself), I would
suggest that lower intellegence or stupid behavior isn't related to

"thickness".
Or to much else. Some of the stupidest things I've seen people do, or say

in
this group, have been from those of you whom I am quite sure are

reasonably
intellegent or even above average. And a certain lack of tolerance

exhibited
by some readers for those who may be beginners in jewelery or to the net,

seems
especially common among those who've most likely got the brains to know
better...

In short, try to relax a bit folks. Moderating the group is my job. If

you
want it, talk to me first before jumping in. I'd be happy to let you do

it, but
then you get to do the whole job, not just the back seat driving.

Peter

Hey Don, a bit backed up on your newsgroup replies? (chuckle.) You've got a
good news server as regards retention times. The message you replied to here
was posted on September 5. Over 7 weeks ago. Pretty good...

cheers

Backed up in my reading. I submit to you that it sometimes becomes
neccessary to practice ones craft to the exclusion of the simpler pleasures
just to remain afloat. Let alone get your head above the surface. Or perhaps
I just got a lucrative and quite interesting consulting project through the
door. HeH. More than just semi-retired Mining Engineer specializing in
Explosive Engineering I can pick and choose the projects I consult on. This
one produced some exciting findings. Gold and Silver plus other "sweeteners"
in a vein that includes some pretty nice Jasp-Agate, blood red with swirls
of clear Agate and clear jelly Agate with swirls and clouds of blood red
Jasper all with the inclusion of VISIBLE crystaline Gold and feathers of
Silver. The specimens with easily discerned metalics in them have been
skimmed for sale as collectible specimens but the whole vein has enough
metal in it to make a mine with the very beautiful Jasp-Agate as the ore.

Netcom was bought by Earthlink a long while back and just this past month
or so Netcom subscribers had to switch from Netcom news servers to Earthlink
servers. So I am on news.west.earthlink.net this month. The process entailed
doing a complete article wipe on my machine and reset so that I had to
download all the old articles and headers available on the server. I don't
know how retention times will look next year but this instance has some very
old posts. I have been reading a lot of stuff the last couple of days and a
lot of it is hillarious.
