I don't think mine will either. I found it rather boring just doing the
same stitch over and over again. It is the same with jewellery I like to
make each thing different.
Have you thought of asking someone else to finish it for you.

Oh, God......

As a Virgo, I really hate unfinished projects. But I have a TON.
I have several cross stitching pieces that are partway finished.
I have a bunch of jewelry designs in my head, all of which I have the
supplies for, but that I haven't done yet. Same with bead designs.
My yard is one huge project I am avoiding like the plague.
Life is all about unfinished projects!

I know what some of you guys are making and what some of you are planning
to
make. Now I want to know, if/or how many UFO's (un-finished objects) you
have. Just because I'm sadistic and feel like having a giggle!

I'll start. I have a free form peyote bracelet in muted shades of blues,
pinks and browns with a Paulette focal that is about one third finished.
It's sat on the shelf all winter. I have partly painted with a trompe
loeil
garden scene one of a pair of bedside cabinets. The other one is still raw
mdf. Two unfinished paintings on the go. A jacket that I've been making
for Brook for about two years (thankfully it was a warm winter here, phew,
so until next winter I'm off the hook for that one). A set of kitchen
chairs which I have partly re-upholstered. Not to mention a fabric stash
most of which I was supposed to make up in the past few months.

I think my problem is that I sleep too much. No one needs more than an
hour
or two a day, right?

Next...

I'm not Wonder Woman. I can't do everything.
Right now I'll settle for doing the bare minimum.

let's see...

a freeform peyote stitch bracelet

a wide peyote cuff

an ID bag

a mermaid art doll

two crocheted witch dolls

at least three strung necklaces

an amulet bag.

those are just off the top of my head. I know there are several more
things I'm "working" on, but can't remember right now..I have a whole
box filled with unfinished projects.

One of my unfinished projects is counting my unfinished projects ;-).
I've got a few masks, lots of beadwork, a bunch of polymer clay stuff,
sea shells waiting to get drilled or otherwise dealt with, tons of html
and computer art projects. I recently sacrificed a 20 year accumulation
of collage and scrap papers just so I could open my closet door again.
I have a tiny house, anything not covered by art supplies is being sat
on by a cat.

Cheryl, that sounds like a worthy effort, best of luck getting the
loan.

Oh...finally a poll where I can participate. I may not have any projects
"on the boil," as you put it, but I have *lots* of incomplete projects.

I guess my two longest running incomplete projects are my quilt and my
crewel sampler. Both of those have been "in progress" almost as long as
I've been married (23 years). The sampler is complex enough that it
actually looks OK "as is," though of course I know what embellishment is
missing. But the quilt is another story altogether. The top is complete,
but I've yet to add the backing and actually quilt a single stitch. Can I
even call it a quilt?

More recently, I've managed a half-woven bracelet made of seed beads,
several incomplete charms, and about a dozen beads that just seem to need
more *something*...

And then there's our old house, which will probably be sold before it's
finished. Everywhere I look there's some little detail to complete. Most
recently I refurbished the fireplaces in every room except the living room.
Don't ask me why I left that one for last (and undone).

Why is it that if you make stuff people insist on giving you things, 'I'm
sure you'll find a use for'. Like all their colour-ugly, left over sewing
threads that are now so ingrained with dirt and dust that you have to throw
the first few layers away. Or fabric that was never pretty. Even though it's
'vintage' now, it's still ugly. Or rusty pins? Why? My gram at least gives
me good stuff, like great vintage buttons, some still on the card. She never
gives me horrid stuff. Mum on the other hand never used to ask me, she would
just dump awful things in my cramped sewing room.

grin Doesn't make me a jeweler either.

I could come up with an excuse for all the typos tonight... but that
wasn't a typo. darn it.

Oh, I get asked to fix jewellery all the time. I always say no, I'm not a
repairer. I tell people that jewellery repair is a whole other, specialised
field which I am not qualified to do. I actually can perform a lot of minor
repairs, but imagine if I accepted someone's great-grandfather's ring that
has worn thin in the band and totally buggered the job? *shudder* No thank
you. The stress would kill me!

Oh wow, me too!

Big boxes of yarn, rocks, lamps, CRAP. People bring it over and drop it
off without even asking if I want it.

A neighbor brought us a giant box of frozen, uncooked bagels that his
church was giving away for the poor. My dad brought a Thanksgiving
box... you know, bread, canned beans, cranberries... the kind of stuff
charities put together to give to really poor families who wouldn't get
to have a decent Thanksgiving otherwise. I was mad not because my dad
thought we needed it, but because a family who *really did* need it was
deprived of it. I donated the canned goods but the rest would have spoiled.

Every now and then I make an effort to get things done, but I've still
got things left over when I run out of puff and I tend to always have
hand piecing for a quilt when I fell like it after I've finished the
more required stuff.

I got the scarf finished last night! It ended up rather long, long
enough that for now he's best wearing it folded in half, at least
he won't grow out of it :-)

OMTP lol My mom has gotten better about the really horrid stuff but she
still insists on making shirts for me. She has actually gotten better
about using cotton and decent colors, but she never *ever* finishes
them. She just does the 'work' and leaves all the sewing on buttons
(ack) etc for me to do. Needless to say I have tons of unfinished shirts!

I recently mentioned having a few large buttons waiting to be made into
pendants, including 2 awesome ones from Shirley. So she shows up with a
container of old buttons... a lot of cool acrylic sets from the 60's, a
lot of 50's and 60's pressed glass sets and quite a few large sets with
rhinestones.

Awesome and beautiful but, other than the few large singles that I set
aside for pendants, I have actually zero desire to anything with them!

What am I going to do with buttons??? Glad they don't take up much space!
