Hi Group!
What is your favorite charity to contribute your craft items to?
(IF you do, that is)

I don't contribute my craft items to anything at present- i don't really make
that much and there is always a recipient in mind. But funnily enough i had a
discussion this weekend about the apparent dearth in charitable knitting here
in the UK and was wondering whether i needed to investigate it further. I
wonder if the UK has a good donation rate for chemo caps and the like...hmmm

I don't as of yet but....

I think I like the idea of making things for unwed mothers, like baby
blankets and such. I'm a baby freak what can I say.

I've done lots of squares for Warm Up America and I've done little afghans
for the local hospital maternity ward. They send the blankies home with the
new mothers who don't have a full, expensive layette on hand.

I have sent squares to Online Angels to be sewn together for afghans for
the needy. I also make slippers and hats for Ship Support for our troops
in Afghanistan and Iraq. The last two years on my birthday I have made a
baby afghan and taken it to the local hospital and gave them to a baby
born that day. I hope to continue this custom as long as I live. Until I
got on the internet I had no idea of so many charity groups that my
talents of crocheting and knitting could help.

Hi

I haven't been knitting much lately - but if I get re-addicted I can give
them to the day centres for the elderly, who will give them to those who are
in need. Slippers and afghans, I think!

Usually to greyhound rescue. I have two retired greyhound racers, Mom
has 3 and we just love the breed in general. They are always needing
to raise funds for broken legs etc.

I did, however, just make up a bunch of dishcloths for my Grandma's
PEO group. They provide educational opportunities to women and are
having a big auction. Apparantly the dishcloths are a big item.

My Knit n stitch group makes chemo caps. I guess I donate to whoever
needs it.

My church. Right now, we don't have a lot of charities that accept knitted
things, but my church has a hat, mitten, and scarf tree every year.
