I will be in Sanibel and Longboat Key later this month. Looking for any LNS
that you would recommend. I already know about Idle Hours in Ft Meyers and
go over thee every year. Any others? TYIA.

I'd like to know of any LNS on the East Coast. We have a driving trip
planned for August, and I'd like to visit a couple if I can. We'll be
spending most of our time in Washington, and Florida, between St.
Augustine and Cape Canaveral. Also, does anyone have any
recommendations for campsites, etc.? Or ones to avoid? With the kids,
either would be good to know. Thanks!

I don't "do" Florida so I'm not sure where the places you mention
are located. I do know that there is a GREAT LNS in Port Charlotte --
my friend Valerie goes there all the time when she visits her MIL. I'm
pretty sure it is called The Golden Needle. If Port Charlotte is doable
for you and no one else mentions this LNS, let me know and I will get
more info from my friend. Then again, you can always try to Google the
name!! CiaoMeow ^;;^

I visited one in Winter Park a few years ago. It was small, but very well
stocked. I think that's just outside of Cape Canaveral.

Hi Louisa,

We live in central Florida, but hate the summer six months there, and
are curently in New Hampshire in our Motorhome. We are near Plymouth,
and as far as I am concerned this is God's country.

Please email me off-line, and I will help if I can. DH and I despise
florida ( we are retired, and don't need to go out and drive in the
snow!). We have found a condo we would love up here, but need to sell
the Florida house first! sigh!!! Please email me at gillmurray1 at
verizon dot net. Our home is about 20 miles from disney! We used to
live in Maryland,and are well acquainted with the east coast;
especially as RVers.

Hi there Gillian, glad you are happily installed in NH, though it
wasn't clear whether you were trying to sell your Florida abode to
Louisa lol

I took my aunt and uncle to Plymouth and we went down to the spot and
dipped our feet at Plymouth Rock having done so the other side too. We
had an awfully good seafood meal down on the Woof - read wharf but
that's how an old timer we asked recommends from said it. It was sort
of a seafood McD's but very good.

Have fun!

I believe Gillian is talking about Plymouth, NH, not Plymouth, MA. The
NH one is in the mountains. My step-father owned a place on the
Woodstock/Thornton border that abutted the White Mt. National Forest.
Beautiful up there.

If you get up by Pensacola, the Needle Delight shop is excellent. It
has local designs as well as a full selection of cross stitch and
needlepoint supplies. The designer "Jemini" started the shop and her
daughter is now in charge. I love it and can't wait to head back to
Florida. Moni

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have checked out the website for The
Golden Needle and am planning to stop there. Several people recommended it
and it is only 45 minutes from where I am staying on Longboat Key.
I wish I could go to Pensacola not only for the shop you suggest but also
because I have a very dear friend who lives there and I haven't seen her in
years.

Thanks again!
