Default OY: update on MOm

Hi gang. Just a quick update on Mom. I can't really remember what I told you
last, so hopefully I'm not repeating myself. The decision has finally been
reached by Mom that she will have to sell her place and live with us. My
brother told her that he thought it was time, and she listened to him. It
sure isn't an easy thing to do, giving up your home and most of your
possessions. But I think she is fairly ok with it (in theory at least). Now
we have to decide if we will add on to our home to make it work for her or
if we will try to find another house that will work for all of us. Should be
fun for the next few months. In the meantime, we may just be able to get
away for a week down south somewhere. Heaven knows where though. We won't be
going to Mazatlan to visit my brother - too pricey- so we have to come up
with somewhere else, if we do go.
Star love,
Norma

Hi Noreen, The shoulder is almost better, The elbow on the other hand.... it
has a long way to go.

My brother got the ball rolling, by emailing the other sisters re Mom. The
only problem is that my one sister wants her and the others want her to go
there as well. The three of them live within about 30 - 45 minutes from each
other, and we are about 2 hours. Plus Mom's specialists are down there,
(although she only sees them about 2x's a year) V's place is a back split
with very steep stairs (short run, high rise) and Mom isn't too keen on
that. They could probably put in one of those chair lift thingies, but Mom
still thinks she wants to stay up here. Her friends are here, her OES
Chapter is here, and she has lived in this town and area for most of her
life, so most of her distant family (cousins) are here too. The next few
months could be very interesting, while she decides. I just hope that
everyone will let *her* decide, and not push her too hard one way or the
other.

Hi Norma,

Oh, the decisions that you and your Mom have to make and yes it's hard. A
friend of ours had to give up her home and she didn't want to live with her
daughters so went into an assisted living home with a nursing home attached. At
least it allowed her to stay in the area where we can all visit her.

Hugs, to both of you.

Nora
