Default Marquise cut

I have a friend who claims that everyone she knows pronouces marquise cut as
markee.

I have never heard anyone else pronouce the word but according to the
dictionary and my limited French, it is pronouced markeez.

Opinions?

So? We have a president who pronounces "nuclear" as "nucular"? All it means
is, that your friend only knows ignoramuses.

Which is correct. Wanna hear it?

Opinions in this matter are useless. There is a right way and a wrong way.
Everyone your friend knows (as she claims) is wrong. The dictionary is right.

pronounce.
