New Class: Rendering and Stylizing Designs for Jewelry

Hello everyone,

I am excited to announce that beginning September 20, the Valentin
Yotkov Studio will be offering a new class/workshop:

Rendering and Stylizing Designs for Jewelry and Holloware.

This class was added in responce to numerous requests for instruction
on drawing and design.
The class will help you develop skills, critically important for
your successful career as a jeweler and metalsmith. You will learn to
draw designs suitable for use with the Chasing and Repousse techniques.
You will learn how to stylize and modify antique or medieval designs
and adapt them to the taste of the modern day customer. Previous
experience in drawing is helpful, but not required.

Schedule

September 20. Regular weekly class begins. Eight sessions. Times:
Afternoon 2-5 PM and Evening 6 - 9 PM

October 6-10. Intensive Workshop.

November 10-14. Intensive Workshop.

December 8-12. Intensive Workshop.

Also, check our new Chasing on a Three-Dimensional Vessel workshop.

Join us for this workshop and learn how the Greek and Thracian
goldsmiths used Chasing and Repousse to decorate their fantastic gold
and silver vessels. Beginners will chase intricate designs using fine
liners. Intermediate level students will master deep chasing which
resembles repousse, and those with advanced skills will create designs
in high relief using the snarling iron. All levels welcome.

Dates: September 29 - October 1.
