Clay guns

I have not even thought of that.. I got the baby wipes sitting right here
too.

There are things you can buy to assist in the extruding part, but it sure
doesn't seem worth it to me.

Okay, a caulking gun of the type I used has a long, open, half-cylinder
with a ratchet plunger and a slot in the end so you can just drop in a tube
of caulk. I figured if I put my little clay gun into that slot it would get
beaten up pretty quickly by the metal-to-metal contact and the loose fit.
So, I fitted a horse-shoe shaped rubber dog toy just inside the gun with
the open part aligned with the slot. That cushions the clay gun and holds
it nicely, but still allows it to be taken in and out quickly. The end of
the caulking gun's plunger would also beat up the clay gun and not fit
nicely into the thumb-curve at the top of its plunger. By sticking the
rounded, hemispheric, wall-bumper for door knobs onto that flat surface, it
makes better, gentler, contact with the clay-gun's plunger.
