Default New Stuff is up on eBay !!!

I don't know anyone who bids on reserve auctions, actually. They don't like
the implied deception.

Many many buyers will stay completely away from reserve auctions.

Funny how different I am. Since I never knew exactly what it really
meant, never looked at it that way and it has never put me off
something i wanted because I never knew. It still wouldn't. To me it
just means I don't want to sell it under a certain price. It's like the
old thing about seeing a glass half full ! It doesn't seem to have
deterred our buyers. And by the way, we have had a number of queries
today. No one bid yet, but we have been answering questions all day. At
least 2 of them very seriously interested. We are waiting for answers
right now. Rainbow

Is there a reason why you didn't just start the bidding at the lowest price
you personally could accept? You started at $399 with a reserve, but if you
would accept, say $450, couldn't you just start it there? Anyway - I do
hope you get some bids. You might have even more quesries and more bids if
you didn't have the reserve. This is just experience talking - not trying to
put down the way you're doing things.

Well, if we get anymore inquiries we'll be up all night talking to
people. My sister and myself have been answering inquiries all damn day.
We buy a lot of stuff on ebay, but have sold relatively little, so we
are totally amateur in that regard ... we did however adapt an ad from
an auction we saw some time back. We based our ad on that. We thought
this other ad looked nice and read well and we used that as a mock up.
This particular seller is a long time ebayer. We looked at her feedback
and such and figured she knew what she was up to. Funny though, we
didn't like her jewelry ! We are not very likely to sell much thru ebay
after this as we will not have anything salable, although my sister does
sell some other things, they are few and far between. Any jewelry I am
making right now is earmared for elsewhere. At my retail prices, my
stuff, sold singly, woud not move very fast on ebay. I do admit we
opened ourselves to a very much wider audience than what we had directly
here in town, but the average ebayer is mostly looking for a deal n in
normal times, I would never give away my stuff like this. This was a one
time thing on the jewelry and it had to be quick.

It certainly is a shame you have to sell them at such a low price. They are
great.

The reason I say this is that we have, ourselves never even thought
about avoiding reserve bids, ourselves and the stuff my mom and sister
sell moves quickly and over the past two days we have spent alot of time
talking to folks about our auction. So I was strictly speaking in that
regard. I don't know how many people avoided it, but we got a hail of
email on it ... Psychic .... I am not, and finding a job, is one of the
hardest things I have ever done this time around because it has been
nearly 10 years since I had to look. I don;t own a car and it is
ferociously hot and going out o the bus every day is the hardest way to
do this. And having to give up all my artwor at bargain basement prices
is extremely devestating, but it is what I am having to do ......

Rainbow -- I have sold lots of stuff for whatever it went for, many times over
the years. And was damn grateful to get the money. I know exactly how you
feel. Just hang in there.

This is a very freeing attitude with which to face difficult, painful
times. I wish you well on whatever comes after this. It may be small
consolation at the moment, but I can say that in retrospect, facing my
disasters and letting them go ... ushered in periods of accelerated
growth in my life. Not doing that simply prolonged the misery.
Remembering that makes me less likely to stick my head in the sand
these days, and more likely to start learning from the things that go
badly ... early in the process instead of late.
