soldering/fusing with stones and pearls
what is your most effective method of protecting gemstones from the rath of the torch when fusing/soldering silver or gold.
i really hate kool jewel...ive tried holding the gems/pearls under water, but i cant get the silver to melt or ball up ever. have any of you used wet sand? I want to connect stones or pearls to chain by simply balling up wire on either end of a stone or a pearl to secure it to ends of tiny chain loops. i really want the metal to ball up as closely to the stone as possible... any suggestions????? |
