Default Easy Perfection Loop

As you may know, I'm not a big proponent of the Perfection Loop in
rope except in cases where you're certain you don't ever need to untie
it. There are several ways of tying it, but often a very simple way
seems to be overlooked.

Lets start off with the first diagram on this page, ignoring the arrow
path:

http://www.geocities.com/roo_two/butterflyloop.html

Lets number the strands against the tyer's palm as 1, 2, and 3 from
left to right.

First, you draw strand 1 right, under strands 2 & 3. Then you draw
strand 2 right over strand 3 and through the bight made from strand 1.
Done.

You may choose to use a finger or two in small stuff rather than your
entire palm, as appropriate.

Cheers,
roo

Huh?!? No... I'm not inquiring at all about how to tie a Butterfly
Loop... I *wrote* that Butterfly Loop page. Read the subject line. I
was describing a quick way to tie a Perfection Loop. I strongly
suggest you re-read my original post more carefully.

Sincerely stunned,
roo

I don't recall saying anything about "fishing with rope". Please note
that I'm cross posting betweeen rec.crafts.knots and
rec.outdoors.fishing.

Roo, I have not seen that method of tying the Perfection Loop before.
Good stuff! Thanks for posting it.

We should start a list. If you have two round turns (three turns) over
your hand, which Loop Knots can you form by switching the positions of
the turns or tucking? (Using the ends of the rope is not allowed!) As
of your post, we have three: the Alpine Butterfly, the Farmer's, and
the Perfection loop.

Does anyone have any others?

All the best - Brian.

I'm replying to your message, not to you..be to those(newsgroup readers)
who might want to see a different example..with a live demo...
without looking at a drawing depicting a different knot
and told to do it a different way....so give it a break... check out these
Perfection
knot pages...why re-invent the mouse trap....remember some people only just
learned how to tie
the shoes yesterday... :-) Maybe you could explain how to do that...show
them
a blood knot first, it might make it easier.
