Default Using polymer-clay

Is it safe to use your oven after you've cooked polymer-clay in it?
Also, can you cook the polymer-clay in a gas oven?

If you cooked the clay 'open' and uncovered, you will need to clean your
oven thoroughly before cooking food in it.

I don't know about gas ovens, sorry.

Did you check he http://www.glassattic.com?

I use my kitchen's gas oven for curing clay, with no problems. Also, I do
not clean it after each batch of clay, but just a bit more often than I
would normally clean it, if I've been claying.

HTH,

Deb

you can use your home oven---just use it at different times than the food prep.
Also use different pans. This is NOT becouse of toxicity---polymer clay is
certified as a non-toxic art supply and only has toxic properties when BURNED.
We use separate baking pans and tools because you truly do NOT want to bite
down on a tiny morsel of hard clay in your next chocolate chip cookie!

Sure, a gas oven is fine. I used mine for years before I purchased a
convection oven. Do be sure to use an accurate oven thermometer.
