Default Melody Crust Workshops

Hi Everyone

Have been away awhile, got a bout of the flu and haven't been cruising the
newsgroup much. Finally starting to feel a bit better.

Tomorrow I'm taking a workshop with Melody Crust called A Fine Line:
Creating the Quilting Design with melody Crust. All we need are some tops
and ideas for quilting designs. We get a kit of Mylar design tool and a
water based pen.

She and her partner Heather Waldron Tewell wrote the book A Fine Line.
Melody is mainly a machine quilter and Heather a hand quilter. I heard
Melody speak two years ago and love her book.

On Monday I'm taking her Machine Quilting workshop. We learn on muslin
squares. I'm so looking forward to these workshops.

Then on Tuesday she is doing two different lectures at our guild meetings
[day and evening chapter]. I've taken Monday and Tuesday off to enjoy these
also.

www.melodycrust.com is her website if you want to check out her work.

Then in March I'm heading down to Bellevue Washington to visit with our
Donna Dean and she's signed me up for a workshop with Valori Wells. Her
guild the Block Party Quilters is having her host a class on her New York
Beauty quilt. I think we will just be drafting the block. It's a one day
workshop and I'll get the info later this weekend.

We'll also head over to the Sewexpo in Puyallup on Saturday, our annual
event except for last year for the past 4 or 5 years now.

Off to gather some show and tell for the Melody Crust workshops.

Cheers,

Hey Sandi!

Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly! Hope that's over quickly.
I have Meody Crust's/Heather Tewell's book that was gifted to me by a
good friend. I must admit I have not read it cover to cover, but only
skimmed through it. I really should study it, as I find "how do I
quilt this" to be something I need help deciding. I'm sure there are
many of you out there with the same problem. "Quilt as Desired" is
very vague, and I sure could use some guidelines in this area. Maybe
you can give us a few tips after you've taken her class!? Sure would
love to hear how it goes.

Thanks, and stay well! :-) Look forward to your report.

I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend, Sandi!

Oh, that sounds like *fun*! Do tell us how it was!

After just having seen Valorie Wells on SQ this past week (or was it
last week?), I envy you!

Keep us posted about how the classes went -- your travelogues and other
descriptions are always so good.
