Ot but great fun
Yesterday i went to see an exhibition
Magical Shapes , 20th cent. Chinese papercuts ,,,,, If you ever read the title RUN to see it ,,,, most of the paper cuts were of traditional techniques, but some also showed some 'socialist subjects` like people working in factories and fields, as the authorities demanded ,,,, some of the cuts were monochromatic , but many were painted delicately , probabaly with brushes made of one hair .. Flok brelieves stories , animals flowers , The borders of some of the work look like delicate embroidery ,,, some cuts are /were indeed patterns for embroidery .... Lovely lovely exhibition ,. NeXt door there was an exhibition of Perfume bottles ,, again an exhibition filled with light ,, but if the light that came through the paperscuts was delicate and mysterious , the light shining through the bottles was colored, more heavily , more concentrated more sensual. mirjam |

I forwarded your post to my DM to make her jealous. She does a German form of the same thing. It is most beautiful. I get to see them close up and in the process and have received several of my DM's creations. Isn't it a wonderful art? (even tho' it's not fiber?) JJMolvik |

The whole exhibitions sounds lovely Mirjam, I've seen something similar and
was astounded by the delicacy and effectiveness of the technique. I'll certainly RUN if I see the exhibition advertised, thanks for your description of it -- Love Christine in Kent, Garden of England "Mirjam Bruck-Cohen" wrote in message ...
