Viking Mega Quilter
Ho Ho Ho! I guess I was a very good girl this year.
I am now the proud owner of a Viking Mega Quilter. What a beautiful machine this is. The harp is 9 x 6 and there is a large extension bed. It does up to 1600 spm, although I have found it is way too fast for my stippling it is easy to control at any speed. The threading was not too complicated and I haven't had to fiddle too much with the tension yet. I really, really like the built in thread cutters. In no time at all I had it installed in my main sewing space to help tackle some serious quilting I have been putting off. Gee, I feel like a pro now! The only thing I find myself somewhat longing for is a zig zag capability, but I have another machine I can use for all that. Just something to bear in mind, some light industrial mid arms do have both stitches so it really depends on what kind of sewing you are going to do. It seems like quite a sturdy workhorse and at a relatively good price, so well worth looking at. There is also a frame with a laser, about the same price as the machine, and also a stitch regulator to use with this. (Not the machine only, I think, just with the frame). I have no where to put a frame and don't really need one yet, but stay tuned Love to hear if anyone else has tried this machine out yet. Viking Mega Quilter
Woo Hoo! Are you sure you were nice? I always get the best gifts when I've
been naughty? ;-D I've looked at that machine, but after my experience with my Viking dealer (the only one for 250 miles around), I won't be buying that one. I hope you have many happy hours of stitching on your new toy!! -- Wendy (wondering if Santa would prefer a Cosmo or a Velvet Hammer) http://griffinsflight.com/Quilting/quilt1.htm un-STUFF email address to reply "KittyG" wrote in message news:RGfpf.428$xF6.42@fed1read01... Cute...
Out of curiosity I looked up what an actual Viking Mega Quilter looked like, and here it is, I think: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/3537_3538.htm -- BRIAN CHRISTIANSEN " Ellison" wrote in message . net... Howdy! What I know about Vikings: http://www.dennyweb.com/viking_kittens.htm |

Viking Mega Quilter
Oh, for Heaven's sake. Is that what you get if you're a good girl? I don't
seem to remember anyone else here getting one. Now what does that tell us? Polly |

Viking Mega Quilter
Enjoy! I'm sure you'll love it. I've got the Baby Lock version (which in
turn is very much like the Brother PQ 1500) and had been using it with PCQuilter before we moved. I think the Viking version has a few extras--and probably a much better needle threader! With a little luck, it'll be set up again soon. Those machines are real workhorses. --Heidi Plattsburgh (UPstate) NY http://community.webshots.com/user/rabbit2b === On 18-Dec-2005, "KittyG" wrote: Ho Ho Ho!
