Default "baby" quilt delivered

Finally! That "thing" was in serious danger of becoming a UFO for a
_long" time. Frankly, at 22 months Hannah is hardly a baby anymore, thus
the quotes. However, this was the first time I got to give away a quilt
to a kid in person, when the kid was old enough to not just cry, eat or
sleep.
She loved it! Spent an hour going "Hannah blanket", and walking around
with it wrapped around her, or lying down under it.

Of course, I was working on a hard deadline, she and her parents are
going to East Asia (from England) next weekend for missionary work, so I
had to get it done. When I started it, I didn't know they weer looking
at somewhere quite as hot as where they are going, but they decided,
that they'd take the "blanket" on the plane and then if it just too hot
out there, hang it on the wall for show.

I don't have pics yet, but it is made with pages from fabric ment for a
cloth book for babies. The story is Noah's Ark. Quite appropriate, I
thought. The colours were a little drab, and in my infinite lack of
wisdom when I first started quilting, I set the pictures in other
fabrics similarly drab... However, for the backing I got some very
bright flannel! In the end I turned the backing to the front for
binding, and it picked the whole front up, so it looked pretty cheerful
in the end. Phew!

This is why quilts for small children are such fun! They are the most
appreciative audience. That quilt will never get on any wall, now that
Hannah has her hands on it!
