Default Quilt Pix - Friend's Wedding Quilt

I mentioned some time ago that I helped a girlfriend make a wedding
quilt for her son and new DIL. Gail has not been quilting that long.
I have posted the pix in my album at:
http://community.webshots.com/user/bronwynferrier
(last photos).
She did a great job.

Cheers
Bronnie

That's really great for a newbie! So do you think you have her hooked? Is
she already planning her next one?

What a wonderful quilt for a beginner. It's just lovely. And thanks for
the opportunity to review the quilts in your album. I'd forgotten some of
them, they're great!

Good for Gail, Bronnie. It looks wonderful.
Did you help choose the fabrics ,too? They're very pretty indeed.

Beautiful. I like the way she quilted the hearts in the 9-patch blocks.

Howdy!
Oh, that's pretty.
Such a restful combination of colors and design.
Y'all done good, Bronnie. ;-)

Yes, she did do a great job -- and you did, too, Bronwyn! What an
achievement to have helped her to make such a big quilt so early in her
quilting life.

Thanks Girls for your nice comments! I'll pass them onto Gail.
I shopped with Gail for the fabric once we had the design worked out.
The colours were the DIL's favourites. The fabrics look better matched
in real life. I thought with the 2 blocks, she could hand sew the
hearts on, and when she got a little bored with that, she could do the
simple 9-patch, alternating over several months. King size is no mean
feat for a beginner hey! I stepped her through rotary cutting etc.
with the 9-patch being a good lesson in matching corners and accurate
seams. Lent her my applique book and away she went....she sure did
well.
Gail works fulltime so can't make my guild's meetings.
I think she put a couple of matching pillows together too!
I am sure Gail is planning some more projects, not so big this time.
Her American cousins from Missouri came over for the wedding and I had
them all over for lunch the other week. (Think I posted something about
that). They were very impressed.
Hugs,

Bronnie
