I'd like to get outside opinions from knitting enthusiasts on my new
web site. Please don't mistake this for an advertisement, because it
is not. I'm trying to get feedback so I can make some important
decisions regarding the site,
www.vintage-knitting-patterns.com. If
anyone would be so kind as to help me out, I would be very grateful.
I'll even give you a digital download of a wonderful pattern book full
of stoles and shawls. But, PLEASE don't feel you have to make a
purchase. You can if you like, but that is not the purpose of this
post. I just need feedback, and I'm willing to make it worth the 60
seconds it will take you to provide it.

Thanks,

Dale & Tabitha G.

RCTY friends, while this appears to be a friendly plea, to ME it loudly
SMACKS of *advertisement*, especially being that it was extensively
cross-posted.

I looked because I was willing to give it a chance, because it was "only"
four newsgroups, but the patterns offered are not old enough for the SCA,
and the claim that you might pay up to $100.00 for one of the pattern
books is only true if you get auction fever on eBay. I don't think I've
ever seen a single knitting pattern book go for over $30.00 or so on eBay
(though I certainly haven't seen every auction they've had).

The site was readable on my system and that's more than I can say about a
lot of websites. My advice to the OP would be to tone down the hype on
the "$100.00" claim, and to list the booklets in chronological order.

Perhaps, but it was crossposted to relevant groups, as opposed to
just random ones, so I'd assume they were telling the truth.
