Show and Tell, lots of stuff!
Well my first post never showed up, so I'm posting from Google.
Here's the original: Hey all, It's been a while since I posted some of the work I've been doing. I entered into Bead Dreams 2007, and obviously didn't win but I thought I'd share my entries. This one was a finalist in the judging in the polymer clay category: http://www.valeriebeads.com/tenderly5.jpg And this was a bead embroidered purse that I made (with no sewing skills to speak of!) that didn't make it to the finals: http://www.valeriebeads.com/pictures/collage.jpg The purse took me months and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. lol! But now I'm bound and determined to make more and even got a sewing machine to do so (the first was hand-sewn). Despite the toil and injury (I got an RSI from it) I had a lot of fun planning it and making it and now I'm addicted! I've also been exploring my 2-d art options and finally merged drawing animals with polyclay. The pink beads are great and I love the art cards. Could you tell me how to go about making the cards. The purse is lovely. Valerie,
Love the cat. Congratulations on making the finals in Bead Dreams. Both times that I attended B & B, I didn't agree with the judges final decisions at all. The first time, 3 years ago, I thought their choices were very conservative. This time, especially in the lampwork category, I thought that some of the more creative beads were ignored. Patti

Yeah, I don't understand how the judges go about judging. Due to my steadily advancing CRS (can't remember ****), I neglected to write
to tell you that I saw your entry in person at the Bead & Button Show this year. WAY TO GO, VALERIE!!!! The beads were gorgeous... you did a great job! They were in a tall, wide glass case and very brightly lit by natural light coming in through the windows. The colors are marvelous and the lighting helped show off your pattern. Congratulations are certainly due to you for all your hard work!
