Default Red Glaze

I live in the UK. Where can I get a red glaze the colour of a Welsh Dragon
or a pillar box?

What temperature will you be firing it at?

Default Red Glaze

Hi Bubbles

1000c is about the temp used for firing in the Kiln that I am able to make
use of. If a different temp is required for the colour I want, then so be
it.

Amaco, and Potterycrafts both have red brush-on glazes that mature at
that temperature. use an 06 cone to fire them, and don't fire above that
or they will burn out and lose all colour.

Neither of these glazes is food safe!

Just as a little info

ROK, here in Switzerland, actually have a glaze made for 1000 which works
very well at 1250 also. It does feather a bit at the edges, but stays very
nice and red. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they export to G.B. They
do seem to export to Germany, Netherlands and Finnland, though.

The glaze number is 555.

All ROK glazes are without any kind of poisons (including lead) - something
I appreciate.

I think Amaco has a couple of red glazes that fire to cone 6....also look at
Georgie's and Coyote Color and Rainbow - all make at least one red color.
