A woman gives birth to a baby, and afterwards, the doctor comes in, and
he says, "I have to tell you something about your baby."
The woman sits up in bed and says, "What’s wrong with my baby, Doctor?
What’s wrong???"
The doctor says, "Well, now, nothing’s wrong, exactly, but your baby is
a little bit different. Your baby is a hermaphrodite."
The woman says, "A hermaphrodite... what’s that?"
The doctor says, "Well, it means your baby has the...er... features...of
a male and a female."
The woman turns pale and says, "Oh my god! You mean it has a penis...AND
a brain?"

I'm afraid you've missed the "heatwave" in the South of England.
Forecast for next week is to start with low pressure bringing strong
winds, rain and showers but a more settled end to the week with an
increasing likelihood of fog and frost by night.

We leave Tuesday 11th,,and come home Tuesday 18th. Quick trip.

I can live with that. I am so sick and tired of constant heat and
humidity living in Florida. Today it was overcast, showery, windy and
cool (68 degs). I loved it and my energy level was rejuvenated. Just
won't wear my comfy shorts in London..have jacket, jeans etc.

Can' t decide what meal I want to eat first. The fun is that I am going
with Ayako, my son's wife from Japan. A girl's trip, and she has always
wanted to go to England.

NOT CHEAP..but we will have fun. Bruce, I am 75..so it will be fantastic
to see my country through younger, oriental eyes! Last tine I was there
when my Mum died in 1987! She was living in the Cotswold then.

Have a great trip, if nothing else, wonderful for you and DIL to take
a break like that.

And please, please tell your DIL not to judge the rest of the UK by her
experiences in and around London.

Definitely - and be careful in London, it`s not as safe as it was - and it`s
pretty filthy from what my sister-in-law and friends say after being up
there a couple of times a year. Jean says she would never go now unless
with our large-size nephew!

This is a long time back to your post.

We felt very safe. It surprised me to see the police armed..and some in
Whitehall had gun-proof vests.

On the other hand, we traveled a lot on the underground and busses..and
had no problem, and a lot of courtesy. Aya was amazed at the good
manners the locals showed to me..the old lady!!!

We were not afraid to sit outside a pub on Saturday evening, with a
beer, or cider and pub nosh. People watching was great.

If anything I am more concerned ion the USA than England.

It was a wonderful trip!!

Glad to hear that you had a wonderful trip, and sounds as if things went
well. Now, for the details - so some of us can share with some vicarious
joy - and general curiousity!
