Have you seen this one from the BBC?

Myself, I think it is more weaving than knitting, but, I wasn't there to

It would seem that way to me also. Weaving would produce the flat surface
needed for circuit board.

I thought it would be more like plaiting the threads , over and under
several other threads . When i studied with Barbara Shawcroft i
plaited 101 threads one and got a very flat `cloth` .
