OT knit / crochet yarn
Thank you kindly, Jennell, but I have a large supply of baby yarn here and
when I saw Beehive was back, I ordered quite a lot more. You Canadians are just so dear to me. Katrina left us with many wounds but still some smiles. Having the Canadian Mounties here in the Swamp was astounding. You think you've seen 'everything' and realize you've only begun. When there were so many folks here who sorely needed their lives and property protected, there your fine law enforcement guys were here to guard us. Unbelievable and wonderful. Polly "jennellh" wrote in message ps.com... http://www.yarnforward.com/beehivebaby.html is my local wool shop and they do have a US web site for orders. What ply did you want in particular, Polly? I have literally a bucketload of baby knitting yarn that needs a good home - from the good ol'days of knitting and other needleworking. Loads of Astra - most colours, 3ply baby, 2ply baby, 4ply baby and the list goes on - let me know. jennellh @gmail.com On Sep 2, 11:12 am, "Polly Esther" wrote: My favorite yarn may be back. Maybe. Since June of '06, I have been unable to find any Paton Beehive Baby. It was an excellent yarn for making booties and caps. Kate T, over on the other side of Mississippi, introduced me to it. Not only is it wonderful for handling but washed garments look like new; something that cheaper yarns just can not do. Anyhow. The company seemed to have disappeared or discontinued the Beehive. Some of my mail order catalogs have put Beehive back on their pages. I don't know if Paton sold the name to someone using crawfish whiskers to make it now or it's our fine old friend. I'm hopeful. One of our dearest memories was the sight of our 3-pound grandson wearing a
stocking cap. We didn't realize that preemies risk losing lots of their precious body heat through the tops of their wee little heads. It is nearly impossible to buy anything for someone who's hardly bigger than a frog and that one item of clothing is so important just so the preemies can survive. So. We crochet and knit little caps and give them to neonatal units. The project is a very portable one, doesn't require much in the way of concentration and very much needed. Good luck with your diamonds. That sort of thing is way beyond my hooking skills. Polly "Butterflywings" wrote in message ... Thanks for clearing up my muddled brain. Now do you crochet or knit or both. I used to do both and now once in a Blue Moon will do a bit of crocheting but not very often. I must finish an afghan that I started 20++ years ago. .all individual diamonds sewn together. Now that my interest is piqued, I'll have to pull it out and see how much I have left to go BEFORE I start the 3 white connecting diamonds intersecting the other diamond stars. It'll be worth it when it's done. Butterfly (Yes, it IS a quilt design.that that Miz Sandy likes) "Polly Esther" wrote in message ... I know, Butterfly, I know. We will hope that it is not so new and improved that we hate it. Polly "Butterflywings" wrote in message ... I've read this twice. Are you 'asking' if any of us know if it's the same? Well, I pulled it out. Oh my, it may take another 20 mumble years! I have 41
stars done, 20 half sets (3 diamonds done with 3 to do), and need a total of 104 stars. think this is going to go next to my LR chair for my 'good hand days' and I'll start working on it again. Not giving myself a deadline tho..as I don't want to end up having to put it away for years and years once again. there's a reason this is called a Hobby : ) Your caps sound cute.
