Everyone has their own threshold for what's cranky, and are entitled to it.

I did add "rather entertaining" toward the end of that single sentence,
clearly not rejecting the enterprise wholesale.

I submit that "technically horrid" was not too strong, given the
aggravation dialup users would have, and especially after several of us
had complained not only about technical problems but about unlabeled
advertising over the years. Am I misremembering that no one got any
response to their complaints before this post?

I have a lot of trouble believing that it could have been more than a
proximate cause of this astounding brouhaha.
