Default Papier-mache

Papier mache is a wonderful material and can be used to fashion all
sorts of things. The history of this material goes back to the second
century BC and originates in China. One of the first uses of this
material was in the preparation of helmets by the chinese. Between the
sixteenth and eighteenth Century, papeir mache was used to create all
kinds of objects; furnishings, transport Carriages, interior
decorations, clocks, tables, etc. It was also used as an additional
material for bridge and house building. Britain had one of the largest
papier mache industries but this came to the end with the advent of
plaster in the late 1800s. There are still many fine examples of papier
mache to be found, so with regard to durability, Papier mache is great.
