Default Authors' Album Quilt

Hello! I'm coming out of lurkdom to prove that I have not fallen off
the face of the earth and to tell you about an opportunity quilt I've
been working on to raise money for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer
Foundation. I collected the autographs of 61 authors -- an amazing,
eclectic group including Ray Bradbury, Judy Blume, Eric Carle,
Jacquelyn Mitchard, Elizabeth Berg, Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner,
Ursula K. Le Guin, Dave Barry, Kevin Henkes, Rebecca Wells, Jane
Hamilton, and favorite quilters like Alex Anderson, Jinny Beyer, and
Ami Simms. (Naturally, I added my own signature, too. When else would
I ever find myself in such good company?)

If you're interested in seeing photos of the quilt and the names of the
other authors, please surf on over to
http://www.elmcreek.net/authorsalbum.html.

Yes, this is a shameless plug, but it's a shameless plug for charity.
That's okay, isn't it?

Hey Jennifer, Shameless plugs for charity are a-ok, especially
kids charities.

Nice to see you here again and I'm looking forward
to reading your new book.

How are your boys doing? They must be growing like crazy.

Jennifer, I tried to buy a couple of raffle tickets, but Paypal wouldn't
let me simply use my credit card without logging in to their server.
When I logged in, they were apologetic but said that they were "down"
for the time being. Too bad -- I suspect Candlelighters may lose several
potential contributors....

Hi Sandy,
it's up now, I was able to buy my tickets.

Jennifer, I am so glad you came out of lurkdom, I was thinking just the
other day about writing you to find out how I can get tickets, and if I can
see the quilt....all my questions answered in one e-mail!
Thanks
Teri

I bought some raffle tickets and was thrilled to see they take payment by
Paypal. I just feel more comfortable giving my financial info via paypal.

That border was a challenge. I don't know if I'll ever do it again!

This is very cool. I do wish that your tour schedule took you west of
the Mississippi a bit more :-) Any chance you'll get to PIQF again?
