thread and torn cloth inspiration
yesterday i reorganized a closet, and was delighted to fine some white
and blue wool , i have stored, and sort of stopped thinking about. As well leftover pieces of cloth [quite a lot] of sewn clothes bed linen, bags and who remembers what else. As i am just making 2 new part applique part embroidery works, i was delighted to see some pieces that might fit, as well as many soft left overs which i may use in some cloth baskets i feel like making ,,, thus i have order in my closet and am `richer` with materials ,,,, Cloth Baskets are partly coiled partly sewn and embroidered over , open uncoiled over parts i braid at times or later applique over or add beads .. It is a good work to do while watching TV , or listening to the radio, it is a marvelous use of old cloth. Ps i also made a garden charm , as core i used a plastic round net that i found inside a Cheese box. Washed it well and than wove some colored plastic [nylon] threads into the little net , left long tails to which i added , beads and a tiny bell , it is really cute mirjam |
