Default England Needlepoint Shops

Four years ago I found a lovely little shop just around the corner
from Kensington Palace. I don't remember the name, unfortunately, but
it was in a small shopping area with lots of small shops surrounding a
center courtyard just off High Street. The shop had a wonderful
collection of hand-painted canvas and very good quality materials.
My sister had done some internet searches for needlework shops in
London and found several, and we went to that one because of its
location.

een Uhrman Tapestry. Does that ring a bell? I order from them online
but they closed their retail shop some time back so I hope this is not
the shop you found. I'll keep digging and, if nothing else, just go
to that area when we're in London. Thanks for replying.

Mary,
I googled needlepoint shops, plus Kensington Palace and got lots of

If you are in the North of England then you could do worse than visit

I second that recommendation wholeheartedly. *Nice people to deal with, too.

Thanks to you and Bruce both. The website looks good and we will be
in that area so I'll check out Tandem Cottage.

Must have missed this message until now.

What I did when we visited the UK was to buy an English needlecraft magazine
and read the advertisements. That's how you find the shops.

We found the most interesting one with hollyhocks growing outside the door
in the High Street of the gorgeous Cotswolds village of Chipping Campden and
visited a few times.
Sadly I have not been able to locate it with Google so it is most likely
gone as this was a few (or more) years ago.
