Default Grace Quilting Frame

Does anyone use a Grace Quilting Frame (the one you use with your
machine) who would like to express an opinion? My local shop just
starting carrying them, and it seems like it would really speed up
machine quilting.

I generally just do all-over meander quilting (I love it - it's
hypnotizing to me, and so relaxing) rather than quilting patterns, with
some straight-line outlining (which I just use my walking foot for).

Thanks a million in advance!

Tricia, my only concern about this frame (and this the one Giles wants me to
get!) is that the foot pedal control is so low-tech. Some of the other
frames have wires to electronically connect to the power control. Can you
achieve good speed control with the wooden gizmo?

I do like the look of this frame. It folds down to store, right?

No, it doesn't fold down. To take it apart requires removing bolts and nuts.
It is pretty much a permanent set-up.

I don't use the wooden thing for my foot control.

I have a speed lock on my Juki 98LE, so I don't use a foot. (not the cruise
control that also regulates stitches). It just regulates the speed, I still
control the stitch. The speed lock was $50, the cruise control was $450. I
decided I could learn to regulate my own stitches.

I don't even have that wooden gizmo on the frame anymore.
