Count me in! I'll double this with my DIY Block of the month...
I want to make a queen sampler in jewel colors. , NS "Jalynne" wrote in message hlink.net... I've seen several people who are planning on making a quilt for themselves this year. I'm no exception. I find that I keep making quilts, but they end up in different homes. It's about time that I have one for my own bed. This year, i'm working on TWO. Maybe it's the snow that's making me want them, i dunno, but i'm determined. If those of you who are planning on doing the same this year would like, we could set up a group, and either post off group or here, doesn't matter to me. I'd like to hear your progress, your struggles, etc. Let me know what you think. If you want to contact me off group: craftigirl at earthlink dot net |

Jalynne,
would YOU like to be the Keeper of this? Just a list of names that ar interested and maybe the "finished size" planned for this particular quilt. (remember quilts have their OWN way of dictating sizes ; ) Maybe only have ONE rule: It has to be a quilt FOR YOURSELF. Doesn't ''matter'' where it is used (couch /guest room/ foot of your bed/ just to be admired /etc ) Then when we are 'called on' we have to say how much progress we have made each month. Something like: One block done (6 finished now) Sketch drawn of entire quilt Fabrics selected-or choose as you go. (PLEASE do not say Stash only----- this is for YOU ------your somewhere and see the 'perfect fabric' GET IT ((( if you can _afford_ to ))) don't go telling me if you were working on 'so and so's quilt' and you saw this perfect piece that you wouldn't have gotten it--YOU deserve the SAME treatment. Off the soapyboxxy) Or even: Didn't DO anything but did 'rearrange' it on the design wall/sketchboard/EQ5 (whatever)........... or fondled the fabrics for it.. HTH Butterfly (see I can finally __say__ the above : ) Still Grinning) "Queen of Squishies" hicall80 @ earthlink.net wrote in message nk.net... Count me in, and this may be the hardest challenge I've done yet! Make a quilt and keep it for myself? What a thought! Yes, I'm in. My new house needs a quilt for the guest bed, and for mine. My goal is to finish a quilt for the guest bed, and get a good start on the Queen size (oh how appropriate : D ) Starflake quilt. Is somebody keeping track of us who join? Is someone going to initiate the monthly challenge update on the ng? Thanks, Jalynne, for getting this started. This will really help me! Karen, Queen of Squishies |

I'm in. I have a queen-sized WIP that's MY quilt, I just need
to finish piecing it. (I've decided to send it out for quilting.) This should help me get moving and get it finished! -- gail Jalynne wrote: I've seen several people who are planning on making a quilt for themselves this year. I'm no exception. I've seen several people who are planning on making a quilt for themselves this year. OK, since I've started the ultimate scrappy star quilt, I would love to join. I'm still working on the strippy borders, but this should give me incentive to keep going ( along with the DIY blocks). Bonnie in OR http://community.webshots.com/user/seabreezy |

What we can do is report here with "A Quilt for ME" as the subject, and add the
month, so that we can all give our progress for the month. I'll try to keep track of those who are interested (no commitment or nagging will be required, so don't feel pressured about that, it's just so that i don't get confused...lol.) -- Jalynne Queen Gypsy (snail mail available upon request) see what i've been up to at www.100megsfree4.com/jalynne "Carolyn McCarty" wrote in message ... What a nice idea! I've got a WIP that I would like to finish, and it really is something I think I want for myself (though my son said he would like it). It's a confetti quilt, mostly 1 1/2-inch squares. In fact you must be psychic, as I just dug it out yesterday to work on for a few days! Now, if I can just find the rest of the pieces that I had cut out... Are we to report to you as we make progress? -- Carolyn in The Old Pueblo If it ain't broke, you aren't trying. --Red Green If it ain't broke, it ain't mine. Well, looks like we have a good sized group. Here's what we do...and thanks to
Butterfly for the suggestions. We post here to the group on a monthly basis. I'll try to be the first to post an update, and the rest of you can follow my lead. I may have to have someone post in April for me, because i'm having surgery that first week...but we'll deal with that when the time comes. Posts will be titled "A Quilt for ME - January (or whatever month it happens to be)" With your post, just tell us what you did this past month to further your completion of your quilt, even if it's just to say you picked out a pattern, etc. If you wish to show us a photo, i can offer space on my website (i'll be putting my progress pix there), or you can use your own photo sharing site. Whichever, just know that the option is open. That's it, that's all there is to it. This is a no-pressure club. No deadlines, other than having your quilt finished by twelve months after you start it, and even that's pretty loose. I won't be hunting you down if you don't make an update post...nothing like that. My idea here is to encourage you (and me) to make that one quilt you've put off making for yourself, without adding pressure. Thanks for playing! I can't wait to see your progress. -- Jalynne - Keeper of the Quilt for ME club list Queen Gypsy (snail mail available upon request) see what i've been up to at www.100megsfree4.com/jalynne "Jalynne" wrote in message link.net...
