Default OT - (sort of) and an day that turned out better than I thoughtit would

Ok, as of Thursday night, I was already dreading Friday - kindergarten was
cancelled (-10 F at 6 AM and a large number of frostbite cases yesterday
across the school district) and I had to drive DS to school at 7 AM with
"puppet theater" he'd gotten elected to build for a Geography/English
project. I woke up yesterday and checked the school closings list, I was
filled with fear! No school at all and that meant all the errands I was
going to do while DD was at kindergarten wouldn't happen. But DS isn't doing
too bad at watching her (with a quick finger for my cell phone number), so I
could get the bare minimum done; the birthday present for Saturday's party
and some milk. Oh Mom, since I have "extra" time now, can you get some
material (stash checked previously to make puppet) for the curtains and a
drape. Ok - balance the extra points for finish work against him and her
home for the extra 30-40 minutes.

Well they survived and I managed to only spend $5 dollars on the fabric and
get a quick browse of the needlework section.

Ok - now, does he take the easy way out and just cut the fabric and pin it
place - NOOOOO, he wants it sewn. So I spent yesterday afternoon
troubleshooting the sewing machine after he jams it. BUT - he sewed all the
"hems" and pocket for the rod (actually twine).

-----
Later, we drove out to Durham NH - DD had a chance to skate at a Lady
Wildcats game and meet some of the players. Even the opposing team cheered
them on. Nice night!
Cheryl
