Wine Bottle Gift Bag
I just made one last week. I cut the fabric 7 inches wide
and twice the height of the bottle plus 12 inches. Fold to the inside, 1 inch at the narrow ends, and top stitch it down. Stitch the side seams (the bottom is the fold of the fabric.) I don't know how to explain the next step! But you line up the side seam stitching with the fold on the bottom and stitch across the triangle that is formed. It's what you do for the bottom of a tote bag. Repeat on the other side seam. Turn right side out, add your bottle of wine and tie with a pretty ribbon. Super simple and the receiver was very impressed. Karen in WI Linda Franklin wrote: Does anyone here know a source for 'free' wine bottle gift bag pattern? Thanks! |

I've seen them with handles, with drawstrings and with neither - using just
a ribbon around the bottle neck to keep it in place. I guess if it's a great wine, the bag won't matter. If you buy it at the local gas station, it probably won't matter either. Connecting Threads http://www.connectingthreads.com/ has a "bevy of bags"
pattern in their "free quilt patterns" (link at bottom of home page) that looks like it would fit the bill. Trixie "amy in CNY" wrote in message ... thank you for this link! i'm having dinner with the DD's boyfriend's family and have to bring wine! gonna make a few of these! amy in CNY |
