Will,
A good quality hinge can be cast at a reasonable price. Consider going
to a casting house in your area. If you will be purchasing some volume,
there are many small manufacturers that can use the work.

Anyone know where to find silver hinges suitable for small jewelry

Would prefer to buy "off the shelf" from someone who supplies them on

a
regular basis and has made lots of them. (A silversmith told me they

are
a PITA to make and take practice -- for whatever it's worth..)

I want to use them on this style of Jewel Box

Thanks to all who look.

VJ:

As I said in an earlier post I am going to look at what we will produce
over the next few months.

I really am looking for someone who does this "off the shelf" to bring
the price down. (Unless the client will pay. :-) )

We will be silver plating some hinges shortly and seeing how that works.
We have the chemicals now and will test.

In the long run we do want "pure" silver...

well, we're in the process of developing just the right leaves for
making molds for doing them with lost wax. for my own stuff.
that's why i said they wouldn't be cheap. i quit giving my 'time'
away. but we're going to be making them for our own use, too, so
what's a few more, if we get the process down the way we want it,
right?

May I suggest you look at the specs of hardness of "pure" silver. you
shoukldnt want that as it will be too soft, more expensive amd not
strong enough for hinges. You should look to use a 925 silver copper
alloy called sterling.
I could easily make your hinges from sterling sheet strip tho shipping
to the USA will kill the cost to you.
