Default Help with brother ribber, please

Hi, another problem for all specialist to help me with. Yesterday I
tried for the first time to use my ribber. I put it in (according to a
manual)double checked all settings and tried to cast on for a 1x1 rib.
Ha, for some reason, I can not even cast on, the yarn catches only on
main bed needles, not on a ribber bed needles? My manual does not
answering any trouble shooting questions. By the way I know the ribber
works, I bought it second hand from a lady, who let me try it before I
took the machine apart. So this is a not problem with machine, this is
something I am doing wrong, but what?

I know this sounds completely obvious, but you *are* making sure that
alternate ribber needles are in the B position and not still out of work?
Sounds silly but I've done it myself!

They should look like the following:

Main bed 10101010101.....01
Ribber 0101010101010...10

(1 is a needle in work, 0 is a needle out of work)

these two being needles directly opposite each other. Also make sure your
pitch lever ( sliding lever on bottom left hand side of ribber, above the
big grip handle) is set to P and not H (for half pitch).

The Brother manual's pretty good, just follow it v carefully step by step -
once you get the hang of it it's like riding a bike!

Thank you all guys for helping me, the reason it did not work, was
really simple, when my husband put the ribber on he put some screws the
wrong way and after the previous owner`s husband came in and check it ,
he put them properly and its works now.
