Default Stitched out

Well I have finally reached the point were I have to stop or burn out
from all the stitching. I just finished putting together a quilt top
and at the end discovered I needed to make 9 more blocks to have it the
exact size I want it. However there is just no more energy or incentive
to finish it. This is definitely not a quilt I want ending up in the
UFO pile but I have a feeling it just may. I made some major errors on
it as far as the size went.. The quilt is perfect except the blocks
came out 2" smaller than I had planned. There for the need for the extra
blocks. Also I am at the end of workable fabric for this one so I am
finding creative ways to cut the pieces I need for the last 9 blocks. I
will continue with the hand quilting on the GMFG since it is just about
finished now. I only have another day or two to go and it will be done.
It is something I can do in the evenings while whetting tv. At least I
know I will finish this one.
For the first time in I don't know how long I do not have another
quilt design running through my head just waiting for me to begin on it.
I amazed myself with this blank area in my brain.
Ok, I know that others here reach this point from time to time and I
sure can use a boot in the pants so to speak to get this top finished.

Nudge, nudge, nudge...and a virtual plate of your favorite snacks waiting at
the end of this quilt...

Think borders, Julia...lots of them!!!!

I've been at this stage many times. How important is it that
the quilt be the exact size you planned? If it IS important,
can you just add four or five borders to finish it?

Cheers,
