milling or machining polymer clay?
Hi All,
Have been looking for unique sources of plastics that can be customized and colored in a variety of ways to fit special orders. Polymer seems like a good fit, but not having worked with it before, I was wondering if anyone has, or knows someone who has, used polymers and machined them in a mill? I am interested in mixing colors of polymer in a camouflage pattern as well as several other designs and patterns. Also - how does polymer do with laser etching? Some of these designs will need to be able to have laser etched designs applied after machining is done. Many thanks for any answers and guidance. ~ TheShooter PS - also looking for sources to buy polymer products to make it in small blocks measuring 2" wide x 5" long x 1/2" thick - these are the size of blocks I want to machine into small, flat, 3D sculptures on a mill. PPS - if there are web pages showing polymer being machinesd, that would be incredibly helpful! |
