Default Quilt Shops in Las Vegas

Hi Sandy and everyone else who has been to Vegas lately.

I have a friend going to Vegas in April and would like to know where the
shops are and if you recommend any over some of the others.

I have old info for her that I'll share, but figured things have changed
since I was last there.

She is staying at the Bally hotel and no transport. Although she might try
and rent a car for a day or so. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Could you send it to me directly and share with the newsgroup if you wish.
I'm sure there's some folks who would like to hear about your LQS.

Thanks for the help,

I'll go ahead and answer here, just in case anyone else is looking for
the same information. G Have I mentioned that our local quilt show is
in April? April 8-10, to be specific?

Here you go:
Fabric Boutique -- rather nice, located at the corner of Charleston and
Decatur. Phone is (702) 878-0068. http://www.fabricboutique.com
Christmas Goose -- small but nice. At the corner of Sahara and
Decatur. Phone is (702) 877-1158. These first two are closest to the
Strip. http://www.christmasgoose.com
Fiddlesticks -- further away in Boulder City. Convenient if you're
going to see the Dam. Address: 1229 Arizona St., Boulder City; phone:
(702) 293-2979. http://www.bouldercitychamber.com/fiddlesticksquilts/
Nancy's Quilt Shop -- one of the nicest LQS, though not very L for
me. Address: 3290 N. Buffalo Dr., Suite 120; phone: (702) 839-2779.
http://www.nancysquiltshop.com
Quiltique -- the newest and closest to my home. *Very* nice! Address:
213 N. Stephanie St., Suite E, Henderson; phone: (702) 563-8600.
http://www.quiltique.com

If your friend is staying on the Strip, Fabric Boutique and Christmas
Goose are the closest for her. If she's renting a car, any are in easy
distance.

Sandy, thanks for this information. I have signed up to take a class at
Quiltique on March 2, Fabric Boxes. I am coming from Virginia and they have
been most accomodating.

I went to Quiltique when I was in Las Vegas in October. I can vouch
for the fact that it's a very cool place.

I'm thinking of making some fabric boxes, Laura -- I bought the book in
Houston last fall and haven't had time yet to do anything about it.
Anyway, have fun in the class, and maybe we can meet up briefly!

Any chance you can take the class? Would love to do a meet up, we will be
staying at the Hilton, next to the Convention Center. I have a gift show on
Monday, Feb 28th, and the class on March 2nd. We leave on the red eye
Saturday, March 5th to return home.

I'm not sure, Laura. I'll have to think about that. I've already
committed to a class in April through the guild here, and I mailed in my
registration for camp just this past Monday -- four more projects to
make! However, I'm tempted. g That box would make a nice gift to take
to my DT when I visit her in mid-March.... I'll let you know what I
finally decide: be strong or give in to temptation??? LOL!
