But the Boye ones are better for scratching your back.

I'd love to see a pic of the Potter scarf! That's too cool!

Well color me DUH.

I was just looking through my hooks for a project I'm planning on
working on this weekend and discovered something new about my Susan
Bates hooks. I prefer those short blunt heads over the long skinny
neck Boye ones that get caught in my work and split the yarn.

Anyway, looking through my crochet bag, I see not only a Bates hook
marked G6/4 mm, but I also have a Bates G7 hook that's 4.5 mm! I
never knew that about my G hooks and thought the 7/4.5 mm size was
harder to come by than that in the US. They are both relatively new,
since I rarely used that small a size until I got into sport/DK weight
yarns the past few years. Sheesh, maybe I should get my eyes checked.

Finished the second Harry Potter scarf, and that one was snatched up
just as fast as the first, but I think I may have a picture of it to
share if the camera cooperated. I'll check it out later and see if I
can show you how it turned out. I think they are wanting fingerless
gloves and/or maybe hats to match, hence the search for the hooks to
crochet the gloves (goes faster than HK in the round for me). If they
want hats, I'll MK those, as I've come up with a pattern I think will
be rather quick to do, though it will take some HK work to do the
decreases at the top for a neater gather. If I do the matching hat or
gloves, I'll let you know how they turn out and definitely not say
anything about having done them until I get pictures!!!
