horse hair raku
i have an opportunity to do a raku firing with a friend and i would like to
do some firing with hair, pig hair to be exact.My pet pot belly junior has graciously donated some for me to try. Do I need to do anything special? any advice would be much appreciated thanks, thepubguy |

The only thing I could recommend is to apply it to the hot pot with something other than your fingers, like tweezers. I've never seen a pig's hair but I can imagine it is shorter than the horse hair used in raku. You could really burn your fingers with the short hair. I would also recommend applying only one or two hairs at a time because if you just put a bunch on the pot at one time, you'll end up with a big black spot. Good luck. Sandi |
