the difference is the what comes after the name, i.e., quality,

but a cute name helps people to remember when they have senior (or

Larisa's Lovelies: Custom Sewing

Larisa's Stitchery

LRV Creative Sewing

Larisa Sews

Sew What!

So-Sew

Sew-Sew

Larisa's Stitches

LRV Creations

On the upside, I spoke with the ladies at the LQS and they said they
would have no trouble putting cards/fliers up for me :-)...now on to
school or age-appropriate children.....and to design a leaflet thingy

Thanks again everyone!!

Try the phone test:

"Hello, Sew What." How will that go over with customers? Same with
answering machine messages.

Also, will people you casually mention your business to hear it as "so
what?"

Try the other possibilities and see how you like saying them and how
they might sound to others.

Default OT AARP (was gotta list, wanna vote - business name thread again)

I think that I am the only person alive that turned 50 without an
invitation to join AARP. I am a member but it is my mother's
membership, she had paid for several years when she died and they
transferred it to me.

Shame, other than health I don't feel old enough to belong to the
group but I am. LOL today my oldest sister told my dad that he had
senior citizens for kids now. I am sure that didn't make him feel too
good either.

Jacqueline who is still trying to hang on and a tad passed 50

The worst day of my life was the day I got
the AARP invitation to join. Honestly, most
days I don't even feel like a grownup yet.

I had to laugh at your siggie quote. I got a telemarketing call from the
AARP when I was in college, asking me to join. I told them I was pretty sure
I didn't qualify, and the lady on the other end cheerily said "Oh, you only
have to be 50!" I told her I wasn't even old enough to drink alcohol legally
and was barely old enough to vote, but that she might want to call back in
30 years or so.

So I did get an invitation, and I sure didn't feel like a grownup yet! LOL

There are lots of Sew and Sews etc around - someone looking you up in
a directory might get the wrong one!

I have a dreadful memory but think I would remember a name that
started with Larissa better. If I remembered the Larissa bit I could
look you up in the 'phone directory. I would never remember a series
of letters (can't even remember my car numberplate) and would probably
look under R or V.

I would go with Larissa followed by what service your offer, to
differentiate you from Larissa the Hairdresser.

Also think how the name would come over on the 'phone - would people
be able to hear it correctly. I once worked for The Curriculum Support
Service - people were always mishearing us as Curriculum Sports
Service!

Good luck with your new venture

Apologies for misspelling your name Larisa - too used to writing my
neighbour Melissa's name, with the double-S. Realised as soon as I'd
pressed the send button.

Plus, if people start seeing the ads,
cards, etc. the name Larisa will 'stick'
in their minds. When they meet Larisa,
they will say "Oh, Are you the Larisa
who sews? I need a new dress." PAT

LOL used to it. I sometimes spell other "iss-ah" names wrong because
of my spelling, so don't worry about it.
